Spring Musical

Scheduling of the spring musical is dependent upon the academic calendar for the second semester. Performances will fluctuate from the beginning of March through mid-April and rehearsals typically begin eight weeks prior. Rehearsals differ from student to student based upon their role or position in the production. Casting for the production is by way of audition and production team and backstage assignments are based upon an interview.

The Lake Catholic Performing 艺术 is excited to bring this award-winning production back to the Lake Catholic stage for the fourth time. We invite our alumni 人 and 娃娃 从1974年开始, 1988 and 1999 to join us in the Lake Catholic auditorium for this newest production as we once again bring to life the musical comedy that gambles with luck and love under the big city lights of Broadway.

Set in Damon Runyon's mythical New York City, 人 and 娃娃 is an oddball romantic comedy. 赌徒, Nathan Detroit, tries to find the cash to set up the biggest craps game in town while the authorities breathe down his neck; meanwhile, his girlfriend and nightclub performer, 阿德莱德, laments that they've been engaged for fourteen years. Nathan turns to fellow gambler, Sky Masterson, for the dough, and Sky ends up chasing the strait-laced missionary, Sarah Brown, as a result. 人 and 娃娃 takes us from the heart of Times Square to the cafés of Havana, 古巴, and even into the sewers of New York City, but eventually everyone ends up right where they belong.
